Auto trans "P" light doesn't turn off: normal?

Went outside to my car in the dark. After locking it via key fob, noticed the tranny light doesn't go out. I went in, started & stopped the car, got out, still one. Went outside after 20 minutes, still on. I never noticed before & wondering if its normal. Is the gear light always on?

There is a power buss ("G" Circuit) that remains 'Live" for about thirty minuites after last action (like closing door).

You could press your Radio volume button after shutting down and removing key/fob and listen to music and it would shut off automatically after 'G' buss turned off.

There is a 'sticky' Thread at top of the Electrical Board called "Hot or Not" that outlines what systems are included in "G Circuits".

It is to show that the cars computers are still running. My land rover, made my BMW as well does that same thing. If you open the door after sitting all night it will come back on when the computers start up. No worries it is normal.
