We have a bunch of members here that have either removed the black insert in the grille or drilled more holes. Being in Oregon we get our fair share of rain and I havent heard of a MINI engine getting flooded out yet!!

 

ALTA turbo back right? My next upgrade (waiting on ALTA intake from UPS right now) is going to be the ALTA stealth cat back if you say that's what yours is. My god that sounds great.

 

It does make a good sound I know some people don't like it(there was a guy selling one in the market places a month or two back because his girl vetoed the sound). It is a sexy sound as my friends put it. You do get a bit of power but you can just feel the engine breathing better.

 

Does adding a CAI effect the warranty of the vehicle?

 

A dealer cannot deny warranty coverage unless they show a modification caused the problem. It's covered by the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

 

that's as written. as practiced is "warranty is denied unless you can prove it didn't cause the problem" although this varies from dealer to dealer.

Short story:

Don't depend on the magnuson-moss to protect you. The people who say it will protect you won't pay your bill when it doesn't.
