Alright just got back from the dealership for a car wash and talked prices regarding installation. Got them to price match Sam's. 799 for half bonnet, mirror caps, fron fender, and strip near the boot. Plus when i got home to check my email the service manager just sent out an email for 10% off any service/parts. So i will bring that in and should cost me 720 + tax. Gotta love negotiations.

sounds like you got a pretty good deal. i had mine done before i picked it up from the dealer. they outsource it to a local installer who uses 3M. is quite visible, especially when the car is dirty! but i don't have to scrub bug juice off the front. it goes quite a ways up the hood, past the scoop and headlights. it had a couple of small bubbles in it that had to be taken out but the 3M warranty is gold. after 16000 miles in 9 months it's held up great.

awesome! you'll love it! just remember to wipe at the edges after every wash/wax and people will rarely notice the delineation where it ends.

So i dropped of Haily to get her bra put on (that sounds so weird) this morning. I went to go pick up and before we payed my Service Advisor asked want to see it before you pay? I say sure. I go outside and i am sooo glad i did. When we first spoke he said that the clear bra would go about 8-10 inches past the headlamps. what the installed only went up to the top of the headlamps. He tried to tell me that that was what the "Half" hood covered and they go by templates that are cut custom. I told him that i was well awar of the templates and that there were three available. One that went to the headlamps, one to about 8 inches past and full bonnet. I was told for the price i was getting the 8 inches. I was very clear when i went to see him and he even showed me on another car where it would go to. (the 8-10 above). So of course the installer isn't available cause he went home for the day, but he is going to call them tomorrow and see what is want. He did offer to have it removed or i could pay the difference to get the full thing done. I told him he should call and figure out about just getting the half way version done and i will just pay what we agreed on.

FYI - he was very ncie the entire time and sounded like he is going to make things right. Worse case scenario if they don't offer the version i want i will juts call up Sams (wherei got my first estimate) and i will borrow a car from my parents for the two days he needs it. PITA but whatever.

Were you dealing with Matt? If so he'll definitely take care of it.

So bad news. The dealership only does the 2 options. Flush w/ headlamps or full no middle ground. So they gave me three options. Remove all of it at no charge to me. Leave it on and pay the 720 + tax or do the full hood and pay the difference ($1400).

I am not gonna do the full hood cause it is way to much money. The only real question is whether or not i remove it and have same do it for the 799 plus tax or just live w/ what the dealership installed. the price difference is about $100 (basically an extra 1% in tax and no 10% coupon). If i do Sam's i will need to also deal w/ not having my car for two days, but my parents have an extra car from when my grandfather passed away and i could borrow that.

What does everyone think?

So i left him a voicemail saying that if they can knock off an extra $100 i would keep the clear bra they installed (620). If they don't want to take off the extra $100 they can remove it. I am just waiting to see what they say.

Does that stuff come off easily if you should want it removed at some point, say to put stripes directly on the paint, or if you just don't want it anymore?

I think you need to heat it to help it to come off. But it does come off w/o damaging the paint.
