Hey everyone,

Im a little freaked out right now. For the last 2 days, i have heard a clunking sound from the back of the car after i drove it to work (15 min drive). I first noticed it yesterday when i got out of my car, heard the clunking sound and thought someone was throwing something at my car. It happened again this morning.

Is this a known issue? I have a brand new 2009 MCS.

 

Its just the fuel tank vapor system doing its thing. Its normal.

 

I believe djam43 is right, the fuel tank is "farting"
Mine does it most of the time.

 

Mine does it too. It lets me know my Mini is alive!

No, she is still letting it out you just can't hear it, SBD

 

This entire thread is QUALITY! hahaha. My car does it too. I always just thought of it as the car "settling."

Passing gas is so much funnier.
