Just got a notification my rear brake/tail light is out.

Only 12K miles. Under warranty I assume?

I'm hugely time-pressed right now and my dealer's two hours away in ATL.

I'll be driving through ATL on the way to airport tomorrow night. Is it a quick fix for them if I stop by?

Can a local Goodyear, etc. take care of it today?

I seriously doubt a light bulb would be covered under warranty. It should be an easy job for you to do yourself. The manual will tell you what bulb to buy and you should be able to get it at any auto parts store. Or as you say, take it to any local goodyear or repair shop and have them do it if you don't hink you can or want to do it your self.

Burnt out bulbs are not usually covered by warranty, but your dealer should be able to sell you a new bulbs and most dealer service departments would put it in for you. Local auto parts stores can also sell you the bulb, but I'm not sure if they would put it in or not. I think your manual would tell you how to install it.

Call the dealer first, don't just show up, they'll be able to tell you if it's covered and if they can do a quick repair of it. Most cars wouldn't cover a bulb under warranty but this may fit in to MINI's service warranty that provides for oil-changes and windshield wipers.

My tail light bulb went out on my 07 a couple of months ago. I called the dealer and he said stop by when I could. They changed it right in the parking area for the service department. Completely covered under warranty.
Short of taking the light itself out it looked to be a pain to get the new bulb fitted with the fixture in place. I don't look forward to doing it.
