If I purchase a winter tire/wheel setup, do I have to have TPMS sensors in that set?

What will the car do when it can not find TPMS sensors? I don't want to drive all winter with a warning light on . . .

I wrote a detailed account about what happens when you don't have TPMS sensors. So have a few other people. Do a search in the Tire/Wheel/Brakes forum.

I will tell you thought that you will have a warning light on without sensors.
