The resale will go up because gas will go up again. It already is... it has jumped, what, sixty cents from $1.30 to $1.90 in the past three weeks? Sounds like deja vu.
Yea makes sense to me. Stuck with the car?? I really don't get it either.

Noegel, I don't beleive you have any pictures. I'm not even convinced you have the car??

Wow--where do you live?! Here in the Houston area, it's about $2.00 a gallon, but I never saw it less than about $1.75. (Premium, of course.)

Not that I don't expect it to go way up again...

In the Seattle area premium is $2.22 to $2.25 per gallon. Regular runs about $2.10 or better at the tier 1 stations like Chevron. You can get it cheaper at the cheepo station.
I don't think it got below 1.75 for regular and it was only there for a very short time before it went back up.

The price of a gallon of gas is not following the price of a barrel at all. I realize a lot of gas is bought on the futures market but yikes even that does not make sense.

It will go back up so all of us that are positioned with good fuel economy MINI's will reap the benefit. Be patient, wait and put some savings away. It may help in the future.

Yeah, and in the meantime, look at the bright side: We don't have to drive an Aveo!

When I quoted $1.75, that was at a Texaco in The Woodlands (about 15 miles south of here). Funny thing is that Texaco is top tier, but it's cheaper than Shell and some of the others. Texaco used to be the most expensive, too, but they are now allied with Chevron, and maybe that has changed things. Weird thing is that we have Chevron stations, too--separately.

BTW, here's info on top tier gas:
