Ouch... what a pain. Maybe have them knock some of the price off the install or graphic costs for the troubles? They might not, but might be worth the shot...

Next update....
Dealer states that the roof decal is the same for both first gen and current model, even though the catalog shows an entirely different graphic that fits the current model. They installed it "incorrectly." I asked them to remove it and install an iPod adapter instead, as the graphic was included in the purchase price of car, and is in the lease payment. I'm informed that the iPod adapter is $700+, funny the other nearby dealer quoted $519.00 stating that MINI picks up 2 hour of labor for the install. Finish haggling price to an acceptable number and ask for install. It's now 6 days later and they can't make the iPod work. They need to reprogram some equipment before they can reprogram the car. This is starting to feel like a Monty Python sketch.........

Take your car to a professional vinyl guy to do the roof instead. He'll cut the squares in whatever size you like and have them reach the edge of the roof, probably all for less than what the dealership charged you for just labor.

Please don't buy a Ford! The incompetencies at your dealership are not the fault of your gorgeous MINI!

Sometimes people make mistakes-- but when they make A LOT of mistakes, it is time to find some NEW people.

My MC has a checkerboard sunroof that I ordered (OEM) and my dealership told me they don't install stuff like that because it is too difficult.

I took it home and installed it in about 2 hours. It was tricky... I will admit that, but... the beauty of it is that I saved over a hundred bucks doing it myself.
