Regarding the auto AC, thumbs up or down? Been reading more about this where it can run cool air even when the temperature is turned up say for winter use (all do to how the auto AC works). Is the regular AC just easier to work with?

I love the auto A/C. Have had this feature in my last 4 cars.

The Auto A/C also has better cabin filtering than the standard A/C. I have allergies and it's one of the reasons I opted to get it. But even without, I love the set it and forget it aspect of it.

Love the automatic AC and my two cents on the clear bra..

Get it. Not a big fan of the invisishield that most dealers install though as the product yellows. I have 3m rock shield and I love this stuff. It saved me from having to have the bonnet on my car airbrushed after someone took some sort of hard object and smacked the bonnet at a casino.

Skip the armrest. I hate mine and as soon as I am motivated enough to remove it, I'm putting it up for sale.

Oh... um... just one thing...

I LOVE my heated seats. There are days when my back hurts when I would rather go out and sit in my car than sit in a chair in the house. They are just pure WIN!

But does the compressor tend to run even when not needed?

Just what it needs to maintain the temp you select. Not sure that I've ever really paid attention or cared otherwise.

I don't know if the compressor runs all the time, I don't worry about it. I'd guess its turns off when not needed, but the light stays on. I really like the auto A/C, we've had it on al 4 MINis and when I drive one which doesn't have it its the one thing I really miss, you have to keep fiddling with the manual, its always too hot or too cold.

Just noticed the Sport Stripes are an option listed under the accessories; problem is I prefer the hood with the bonnet stripes, but like how the Sport Stripe continue through the back of the car.

Have you had any problems with your sunroof?

Melting of hood scoops????

BTW...like the Pepper White is my second color choice which I am still considering too

How do you like your driving lamps?
I just bought my 09 MCS less than a month ago. I don't smoke & forbid anyone doing such in my Silver Critter. I removed the ash try & placed inside the cupholder under the center armrest. I use it now to keep change. I like the center armrest, as well as the dual sunroof, which I had tinted.

Yeah, but don't they sometimes blow cool area even when you have it set to a warm setting? Think is issue is how all the auto systems work, not just for MC.

Plan on doing the exact same thing; how dark did you go with yours?

I have not had that problem. I have already driven multiple times in sub-40 weather and it blows warm air under those conditions or not at all. I also had the same system on my last 3 BMWs and never had an issue like that. The Auto A/C works very well.

You can make it blow cool air by overriding the auto function and just setting the fan to blow, but that is not something I do.

I had the tint done at the Mini Center of San Antonio but not sure the specific tint shade. I do like the tint, which has a lifetime warranty.

Yeah, that was the first thing that surprised me when I did my first test drive. Could imagine would good that sunshade would even do on a 95'-100' blazing sunny August day

LOL; wasn't think of any decals on them like you have

But not sure if they are really needed, or maybe just for the front. Anyone else have them?

Actually, that is a Photoshop job, as a joke for another thread. No, I don't have a mudflap girl on my MINI.

LAWNBOY! Hope you order soon! If you don't mind, my opinion on a few things. 1. Floor Mats. The dealer should throw in the mats. The rubber is best, but make sure they don't throw away the stays. You need them so they don't go under the gas peddle. 2. Xenon! No matter what anyone says, GO ZENON> no other way. Best light for a very small car. 3. Sun roof. a must for light. Small car, but tinted roof for glare. Love mine. 4. Wheels and sport package. 16" and NO sport. You get a sport button that you can turn on and off anyway. Although it's an option (sport) it is an extra expense. Guess it depends on what kind of driving you want to do with it.Hope this helps! - skerm8 (or Stacy)

I think the mudflaps are needed. I had them off the car for the first few months that I had her and I kept getting this horrible spray down the side of the car that would go from behind the front wheel all the way to the back wheel.

The back flaps are just for show, but I like how they look on the car, so I have both front and back.... ironically also on a pure silver.. and I do not have a mudflap girl either, but my husband has joked that I should see if there's a mudflap guy. LOL!

What are the "stays"?

So the rubber mats are better than the carpeted ones?

DEFINITELY getting Xenon; already on my must have list

Was going to pass initially after I realized the sunshade wasn't really a sunshade, but then heard from someone else about tinting it. I think given the size of the car and the type of sunroof, it really makes a BIG difference.

What exactly was your opinion regarding the wheels and sport package? And no sport? And what exactly is "an option (sport) it is an extra expense"

Thanks for all the feedback

Would you get just the front ones then? Did you get the ones in the configurator?

I think skerm8 meant that the Sport Package option is an extra expense, or that the Sports Suspension is extra.

Anyway I agree: forego the Sport Pak, stick with 16s, and tweak the rear suspension a bit to reduce lean in corners and y'll have one fun MCS. With xenons. And rubber mats. With stays

And what about the sport button?

I was initially going with the sport package, but have since decided to back that out and order the Traction Control, Xenon headlamps, white turn signals, bonnet stripes, and the 17" Challenge Wheels separately.

All the MINI-USA cars come with the 'sport' button, It makes the accelerator more sensitive,
the steering tighter and with Automatic, it ups the shift point RPM and makes the shifts firmer.

The "Stays" are 4" Velcro Disks under rear corners of Driver side Rubber Floor Mat that engage
Velcro Disks attached to the floor and hold the mat from sliding.

Well, me no. I like the look of the back flaps. Yes, I have the ones on the configurator.

Given the design of the car, didn't know if the mudflaps would do much good.
