Thanks for the link, I had no idea what a Undine was or why it would be the name of a ship.

It is good to hear that the sound of our ship is beautiful and car be heard over the sound of the water. Although I always pictured a water nymph as smaller and with less steel components. And it's too bad that our ship will remain soul-less as I fear that no human man will ever marry it.

I was thinking the same thing... I was looking at all of the other awesome ship names and was like....."Undine? That sounds like a dumb name."

So I looked it up and voila!

We'll I just checked again and my car is still sitting at the dock. My wifes ride left 2 days ago. I'm sad. But the good news is I can drive hers until mine arrives. (And if you believe that I have a bridge I can sell you.)

Oh good, I have been in the market for a bridge for a few months now.

The information might be delayed, my car was on the boat for 2 days before it came though the BMW system, so hold on to some hope.

Mine was completed yesterday and is awaiting to be put on a ship. Im still excited that the process has been so quick. I am hoping to get mine sometime in January and am counting every second until it gets here.

I just did some diggin around and it appears that another car carrying ship will not leave Southhampton until the 12th of December. If that's true I'm a little bummed out.

Not much we can do about it though. It's going to be a long December.

If this is true then I would expect it to be in California by January 2 or 3. Then probably at least a few days in port before shipping to Seattle. So my best guess is at NW MINI by Jan 10 - 12 or so. Man that's another month.

It's going to be long month!!

I had e-mailed my sales guy a couple days ago to see if he could provide any additional updates, like what ship it was going on and I also asked him to confirm the rate was locked in.
He e-mailed me back last night to tell me it had completed production. Umm, yah, through my own research (here) I've already determined which ship it's on, when it's leaving and when it is due in NYC.
I wonder if all this access to information is really a healthy thing.

My MA said the car is on the boat to arrive next week and then transported to the Midwest so I can pick up.

I am a little slow on the uptake. Just found the sticky post on how to track my car. Awesome write-up. My car is on the Undine too! Scheduled to dock in NYC on the eleventh!

I am assuming that my car will be on the same ship also. It is too bad that the next ship will not depart for another week. That is kinda lame. If I can pick it up by the 12th or so that would still be nice. I will be out of town for a while beginning on the 19th of Jan. and really wanted to have my fix before I left. Ill cross my fingers.

If my research is correct you may be ok. I think the key is how long it sits in California before being trucked up to Seattle. I'm hoping it's right away but you never know. With everyone trying to save money, (even foreign car companies.) one sure fire way to do that is reduce shipping costs by doing more consolidating. But hey, what do I know.

I'm going to hope for the best and that's all we can do.

Regards,

Pat

Yeah that is probably exactly what they are doing and it makes sense. I'll just have to regain some patience. Im selling my current vehicle tomorrow and will rent one until my MCS gets here. The resale of used vehicles, except Mini's, is terrible and the dealer's wholesale buyers will give me a couple thousand less for it. Oh well at least Ill have a vehicle that maintains value better than anything else out there right now.

Good thing the Undine is big!

I looked at sailwx.info today and noticed that at the approximate location of the Undine there are 6.3 meter waves....that's like 20ft! Wow. Good thing it's a giant boat!

Quick question, where is everyone getting this detailed information about what boat and when the boat is due. We're waiting on my wife's which has been listed as "En Route" on the MiniUSA "Owner's Lounge" tracker for a while. I saw mention of a ship due in NYC on the 13th which would make sense for our car based on what the dealer told us. Just curious how I can go about getting more info.

Also, should I be worried that the Model Description says that it is a 4dr Sedan Cooper in the "Owner's Lounge" when we ordered a standard MC not a Clubman???

Cars leaving for the west coast take 20 to 21 days to get to California. Then the truck ride to the dealership. I am unsure how long it takes to get the east coast. A little less time as I understand it. Your MA should be able to give you all the information you require. If he can tell you the name of the ship you can probably track it at www.vesseltracker.com. The website just says that. I don't know why. You will get the right car. I have 2 on order and it says the same on each. Don't sweat that.

Regards,

Pat

Check the sticky thread on how to track your car in the 1st Gear forum under "Minis in General"

I went to: http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/cargoTrack.do and put in my VIN number under the Cargo ID and it told me exactly what ship my MCS was on and the date of departure and arrival. Mine is on Vessel: TRAVIATA
Voyage: ED850-TRA. Scheduled for departure on December 15th and in California on January 4th. I would try this approach if you are having a hard time determining what ship yours is on and where your MCS is located.

My second MCS is on the same boat yours is. Thanks for the link. It worked just fine confirming that my car is on there. Still kind of miffed my other MCS will be in California on the 24th of December. (Even though both cars were done on the same day and arrived at the port on the same day.)

I guess that's just the way the cookie crumbles.
