Yay! Prestige mini is reporting 20 released too, though mine is not among the cars arriving today. We're planning for Monday, delivery willing.

 

Very glad to hear the good news. The wheels are turning again and the last leg of the journey is in motion. I would expect delivery here in Philadelphia
by the end of next week. All right!

 

I heartfelt thanks to all you first week new MY recipients for taking one for the team. I could hardly stand the suspense even though I have not yet gone into production. May the MINI gods up your initial motoring mojo and a big to those that told you to stop your whining .

 

The replacement car for my first LEMON was built three weeks ago and railed to Bremerhaven where it is awaiting passage to Brunswick.

I doubt they'll find it under all the sea gull guano that is eating into its paint.

Whoever said "whining" let him pay 100% of their money and then wait 113 days for a car.

 

113, that's it? I had to pay in full before the car would be built, I'm up to 210 days since "paid in full" and I still have 13 days to go.

And, oh, I didn't have time to do the test drive before ordering the car, so that last MINI I drove was an 07 demo about two years ago.

If I can make through this wait, so can you.

 

True...but the Mini gets better gas milage than most cars on the road today....HUMMER anyone...

 

Mine arrived yesterday.....picking it up tomorrow afternoon.

 

You only forgot to mention that you were stationed in the Azores, ordered the car through military sales in Germany and opted for personal RoRo delivery to coincide with your return home from the Air Force at Scott AFB Illinois,etc. etc.?

I on the other hand am talking about a true occurrence in the civilian sector and not military snafu stories.

This is a thread where those forced to wait can vent a little. No harm there.

 

Ya know not every thread is read by moderators. If you have an issue with a thread report it. Then we can see.

There is nothing wrong with this thread save for a bunch of impatient people suffering the wait that happens every year with the model change over with a MINI. As someone stated, these cars are for the most part special orders and not lot fodder like a Nissan, Honda or Toyota so there is no steady build of inventory at a dealer. Add to that the EPA is not efficient enough for some people and MINI doesn't want to tell you whats going on.

For the most part all that you have in the car is a refundable deposit at this point. You can walk away if need be.

Oh yeah, it's a proven fact that crying about something you can do nothing about on the interweb makes things go faster since everyone that you are crying about is notified right away so they move faster to make you happy.

Guess I can now archive this post to repost next Sept when the same thing happens yet again.
