That's the Chrome Line interior that came on my used MINI. The red carpet is a bit much though, IMHO.

Thanks.

So far I have not scratched it. It is my daily driver and I have 5500 miles on it in 3 months. I have been a little paranoid about scratching it but i'm paranoid about scratching any part of the car.

Michael, quit ribbing jgarner53.

I believe that interior is from one of the Clubman prototypes built for the Auto Shows in the year prior to its release. If I remember correctly, that may be the Tokyo Auto Show model.

They had quite a few really off-the-wall versions built. If you do a seach at www.jalopnik.com, you can find them. It's a really cool auto site, too.

LOL - the fun part is that I didn't hear about the guy who plays mr bean until after I bought my car and the plates. I've never seen one of his movies. My car is named after the coffee energy drink "Java Monster Mean Bean." My very favorite drink!

One of these days I'll have to rent a mr bean movie!

Sorry Michael, but I had to do it. The next thing we know, there would be 15 new threads about how everyone is getting ripped off by MINI since they didn't get the real "S" interior with the hot red trimline.

Mmmm.... Chrome.... Lot's of shiny bits... I wasn't sold on it, but the wife wanted it. I'm very glad to have it, now. It really does add a lot to the interior.

I do have one quick question for my fellow chrome-having motorers: Is there a gap between the chrome ring and the plastic face of the speedometer? I took my dash apart to install a GPS mount, and there is now a 3/16" gap. Might have been there to begin with, but I want to make sure it's all put back together properly.

Thanks!
B

I have the chrome interior as well. I swapped out the arm rest for the euro style one and put in the chrome rear cupholder as well.

If you get the hi-fi upgrade, the door speaker rings will be "dark chrome" or in other words, they'll be piano black. I was going to order them but I don't want to create possible rattles by attempting to remove the door panel to replace them. I don't pay them any mind now.

I think imma take the plunge and add the chrome line interior to my MCS. Hopefully should be good contrast to the piano black finish and anthracite headliner.

That's just gorgeous! I ordered my 09 MY/B MCS last night with the chrome/piano black. I love it! Because the yellow trim isn't an option on the 09s I had to go with the stock, but as soon as it comes in I'm swapping the parts out with 08s to get this look.

Thanks, You can dye your original parts as an option to buying 08 parts... Might be cheaper?

That's a good idea. How would you go about doing it? Do you know anyone who has successfully dyed those pieces?

I've dyed some pieces on other cars using SEM vinyl dye, but not these in particular. Did a quick google search on "vinyl dye" but mellow yellow may be difficult to find..
