R56 Wondering if the old saying is true...
Would guess that "Old Sayings" are rarely true, you had mentioned that your build was interupted by the 'strike' and you might think that could be an issue.
No doubt the 'line supervisors' would think that too, so they just pay extra attention and you end up with a more carefuly built car than most.
It does seem odd when you read all those complaints about rattles and whistles etc. ... posted by some owners,
while the vast majority never see or hear any of these issues at all.

FWIW - According to my numerous calls to 1-800-ASK-MINI, my car was started on a Monday and completed on a Wednesday. I guess that means I'll have a half crappy car. And as far as holidays go, if the Brits are anything like their German and Italian cousins, there isn't a week that goes by when there isn't some sort of holiday.
You can access a 'build date' on the Tach (from the turn signal stalk button) and this is a Wednesday on mine.
However this is just the day that the parts were assembled from stock, if you look at the date on those printed tags that are stuck on your parts,
you will see that date, but that would be days before the 'run' down the line and out the door.
