If you cant afford the report maybe the car shouldn't be in the cards.

 

I think he could afford it perhaps but lacks a method of payment.

If you have a bank account then you can get a prepaid Visa card.

So if you have no bank account and are paying cash, sounds like you are attempting to launder money.

You do know all cash transactions in excess of 10K are reported to the feds right ?

 

I certainly hope you're not basing your purchase decision on a silly Carfax report...

A Carfax report only lists incidents which were reported to an insurance company--incidents can occur & the owner knows it'd be a BAD idea to report it to the insurance company because it'd show up on a Carfax report. So, for stuff like minor body damage, water damage, etc.--stuff they can repair themselves or pay someone else to repair--the owner will take care of it without notifying the insurance company and then if there's still problems, it's too late to notify their insurance to get it fixed properly, so they sell it privately or via auction or even by trading it in to a non-MINI dealership.

Some may say you should have a MINI dealership run the VIN for service history, but even that info won't give you "the rest of the story".

Find a trusted mechanic and have the car inspected.
