I have a local shop making some carbon fiber side scuttles for my R56. The fitment is perfect and he isn't asking too much. They'll look mean after a clear coat

I don't think they'd stand out on my LiB, though I've got the Union Jack anywho.

Assuming he waxes his car, I think it'd look a bit goofy for a shiny car to have dull black things on the sides

 

If you decide to clear coat you can use standard wax. If you leave them in the raw state a special carbon fiber wax has to be used or else they will white out.

 

Tempting...Although the whole waxing thing would get annoying
