the BBSs are 16.3lbs
the Enkies are 14.6lbs
the O.Z.s are 15.5lbs
the SSRs are 14.5lbs, the 16" version weighs 11.5

the weights are all listed on tire rack site. just click on the rim your eyeing and it will list the weight of each rim based on size.

The northeast has many roads in bad condition: potholes, frost heaves, cracks... and IMO driving around in a Mini on 17's is not an issue. I see flaws in the road and react to them, I suppose if you're the kind of person that barges over anything in your way then 15's with a 60 profile tire might be a better choice.

How does that compare to the standard wheels? (I've got Bridgespokes on mine.)

Edit: I found this http://www.mini2.com/forum/faq.php?f...heel_tire_tech 20.9lb for the Bridgespokes, it looks like the 7 holes ones our first Cooper had are the lightest of the lot.

your average stock wheel is going to weigh proably 17-22lbs.(I'm not too fimilar with the weight or the stock Mini rims) Most OEM rims are cast, and majority(if not all) that I listed are forged rims. I priced out a set of the 16" SSRs with a +44 with some bridgstones, mounted, balanced, with new tire sensors installed for under $2000.(without runflats as well) I haven't ordered my mini yet, but I'm not going for any special rim options come order time. Now I believe the proper offset for the Minis is +48. I'm not sure what kind of rubbing issue you'd encouter, but I'm sure a wheel spacer would solve that issue.

thats some good info right there

once you get into the 16"+ range the stock rims get heavy!

Forged rims FTW!!!
