Hi DaPooh... I'm practically your neighbor. I was hoping I could ask you for a favor: Could you take some additional photos of your Nav set-up? It looks really clean, and ever since I test drove a MINI with the Garmin/MINI removable GPS option in the same place behind the wheel, I've been intrigued. Could you describe your set-up with some pics?

Calmante...not much at all. Basically two suction cups, super glued back to back and that's it. The only problem if your GPS doesn't have a flat surface on the back then It can't be done. I'll hardwire it when I have time.

Check out the pix.

I like the stripes on the liftgate, but not on the front of the car.

I cant understand why folks are constantly blocking, Photoshopping, or generally obliterating their license plates, not just here, but in every forum that I've ever frequented. As Twister states....no stalking here!

I don't take a Sharpie or can of spray paint to my plates every time I hit the streets, and everyone sees them there. Maybe I should start.

So that I am not labeled a hypocrite, here, for all to see, are my plates:

(Little do you know I wont have these for very much longer, and once I get my vanity plates, out comes the Photoshop eraser tool! Muuuu-uuu-ha-ha-haaaaa!!!!!)

BTW....I like the red/white checkers very well. Definitely the first time that I've seen 'em done like that. It's what makes a MINI a MINI.....personalization and individuality.

Well...I noticed prior posting the pix with the front plate uncovered. Too lazy to crop or blur out the plate.

It's not being stalked or paranoid...I thought It was one of the forum rules :-)
Just copying what everyone was doing...after all, I'm just a newbie in the forums.

Do the bonnet stripes in red/white checkers and it'll look complete!

I agree. I think the solid bonnet stripes and the checkers are why it appears to be too busy. The checkers on the back look cool and I think the checkers on the side are great.

Don't listen to him ... I think it looks great! As others have already suggested, the only thing missing is the roof. If you want something totally different, then go for broke!

the proportions of the checkers your using seem a little off. if you were to change your hood stripes to a checker patter it would flow a little better IMO. as someone mentioned above what about the roof? it just seems a little too scattered and you should incoperate it a little more. its not my style, but you can make it work.

It's different and that's what it's all about - what you like. It fits the car...

I think people do it for their own protection. We all like to show off our mods and add ons, like radar detectors, gps, aftermarket alarms and stuff. If the right person, like a bad non MINI owner, got a hold of your address from your plate info they could find out how to bypass your alarm and get all of your goodies. I think it is a good idea to block out your license plate info. Better safe then sorry.

Off topic, I know, but I LOVE this! You made your own custom plate and incorporated the MCS logo into it.

BRILLIANT!

I agree with you, Steele. ALWAYS better safe than sorry. I just thought it a little odd that so many folks block their plates on all of the automotive forums. If someone has access to state vehicle records and will go through all of the trouble to steal my MINI and it's meager contents, then I guess they need it worse than I do.

Now...if I was using my car to haul gold bars and diamonds.......

I really liked it and I didn't even think about the italian tablecloth thing... In reality, thats what is sooooo great about a Mini, you can personalize it however you want to look however you want.. I have seen plain cars, safe (yawn) or I have seen them hooked up...whatever your personal style is go for it...and have a great time with it!!!
