MCS '09 - DSC off button

When you get the DSC option on 2008 MCS you get an on/off button, yes?

Now that DSC is standard on 2009 MCS's, do you still get an on/off button?
What makes me question this is the text under the DTC option: "Perfect for aggressive driving, 2009 MINIs will allow drivers to turn DSC + DTC functions off and grant more responsibility to the pilot."
You could read that and think there's a button even if you just have DSC... or you could read that and think there's a button only if you have DSC + DTC.

I don't know that I care too much about DTC if I am getting LSD... but I want my damn off button!

should be a dsc on/off toggle switch in the lower bank, dont see why they would change it if the option to do so remains. guess we wont know fer sure until the first 09s are delivered in oct

? is: will it really turn off?

The addition of DTC to the MINI line-up should be a good thing, if it's anything like that on the BMW 3 series.
In the E90 3 series, push the DSC button once and it engages DTC mode which allows some wheelspin and a little tail out fun, unlike DSC which allows no fun, but is effective in inclement weather.
Push and hold a second time and DSC is switched off, I expect this to be the case for MINI as well.
My current R50 MINI has neither ASC+T or DSC and I'm only to happy to modulate wheelspin with my right foot.

In the R56s its been one of the buttons in front of the shifter, the gen 1s had it in the lower toggle bank.

For what its worth, I've been finding the R56s have been quite a bit more permissive in what they'll allow you to do before the DSC kicks in. I'm quite happy with the way it works. The R53 could also be beaten into submission, it started out very intrusive but eventually became quite reasonable, you just have to show it who's boss.

If Mini is consistent, the DSC button on the MC will be located at the base of the shifter, next to the Sport Button.

Being from "snow country", the DSC button is important. Sometimes you want to spin those tires to get up a slippery hill so turning it off is important.

Well, my immediate question is: will there be an off button if you don't get the sports package for 2009 models? That wording under the DTC option for 2009s makes me wonder if MINI is planning on using the on/off button as an incentive to pay for DTC.
