I ordered from Rasmussen 6-14 and the Mini was built 7-10 and is now waiting for the boat to leave. I had a great experience with Sara. The thing she told me was to never try to call and expect to get her or answer a message quickly. She said if you want to hear from them the best way is to e-mail. I believed her when we ordered our car it looked like they were giving them away for free, there were so many people in there.

Plutch what did they quote you for jcw aero kit and install?

Mini in Portland had horrible service specifically Dan Clarke a MA there. Northwest Mini in Tacoma didn't have a clue either . I ended up ordering my 09 JCW from Mini in Dallas. Its a a little far to go for a Mini, but I refuse to give my money to dealerships that take your business for granted! Just my 2 cents.

I've had great e-mail interactions, but I wonder if Rasmussen is not paid on a commission.

Jarid at Rasmussen was a real pleasure to work with. I made a point to schedule a meeting with him on a weekday because he specifically said that the weekends are crazy there.

I highly recommend going in there to speak with him, he will give you the time, just do it during the week.

Hello Plutch Don't know if you know this but you can get another 250.00 off if you are a Costco member. I was going to order mines from Portland, but something told me to give these guys a chance first. Truefully didn't want to drive 125 miles verse 20. So I walked into the dealership with build sheet in hand. I asked to talk to a manger, but got a saleman, I informed him of my plan. He looked and laughed and said they won't do that, we don't have too. I told if they don't that fine I'll go to Portland and purchase it... 5 minutes later we order it without the 695.00 ans 250 off.. I really glad I got here because WA. state has a lemon law. being that you brought your from OR. you don't get it and when you bring it in for service they don't have to give you a loaner... That suck I know. I just received MCS on the 10th... I guys here in fife told me that I would be that first and the last to get it...

Dont fall for the Lemon Law bullcrap...there are federal laws to protect one against a lemon. I do know Washington has one...but its not the final answer for a lemon. Also, NWMini will not be the only game in town once Seattle MINI opens...thank goodness! Im sure they will gladly take those of us that bought our MINI out of state and treat us just like we bought it from THEM. The arrogance of NWMini is a total turn off. Good to hear you got a deal from them. Im still quite happy with my decision to buy elsewhere though!

Congrats to you, anyhoo....

How are Costco and Mini related? I don't want to have to give ultimatums with someone who I am doing business with and the guys in Tacoma were not very forthcoming with any information about the $695 Dealer Prep". They said that this was non negotiable. That's when I called Rasmussen in Portland and they said yes they do have a "Dealer Prep" but it was $400 cheaper and Jarid specifically told me what I received for that price. Full Tank, Wheel Locks, Detail / Wax, and my choice of Rubber or Cloth Floor mats (went with the Rubber Mats)

I am not even thinking Lemon..the car will be with me for 10+ years, mark it dude.

Oh and Rasmussen's install charge for the JCW Aero Kit that I had to have was cheaper than NW MINI as well!

My MA is also Sara, @ Rasmussen. While she's not super-speedy about replying to emails, she does within a day or two.

I went in to order in late June, got a July build with a delivery date of Sept 10. I'm having driving lamps, checkered mirror caps/side scuttle/door handles put on.

Also, I can't remember where I read it, but IIRC, the Seattle Mini dealership would be owned by the same folks who own the NWMini in Fife/Tacoma.

It was very late when I got on last night, so maybe i didn't explain myself well, but what I was trying saying if you are a costo member they have a new car buying program that gets you sometime thousands off MSRP. You tell them what kind of car you that you want to buy and they tell you where to purchase it. Great program if buying a ford or Chevy. The bad thing for us as Mini buyer and owner there's only one here and they don't want to do it. So Portland is our only option and that not a bad option when you figure no 695.00 plus 250.00 off MSRP. I talked to them and was in my car to drive there and buy it there, but I had to drive by Fife to get there and I had only talked to them over the phone. So i thought what the hell, I would try in person.

Only thing I can tell you. That you will so many Mini while waiting for you to come..
See You and Save the Wave

I thought with the tight supply, there would be no advantage with Costco's auto program, so I did not contact them this time. Wow. $250 off too. I contacted them a few years ago and they told me then that the Honda I wanted was in tight supply and they would not be able to do less than MSRP. I should have called. Live and learn. With the price of gas an the floor mats(detailing is a normal dealer function), at least the $175 fee is just about a wash.
Today is the day. I pick my Mini up around noon. Took the day off.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience... We do not "use" clients cars to "show" off features. If they are upstairs to get picked up and someone wants to see a type of interior your car has...sure I will open the door to show someone....but we do not let people sit in sold cars or drive them. When cars do arrive from Los Angeles they never show up alone. If we get 15 MINIs in at a time it will take time to get them ALL in thru service. I am guessing your car got here right before the fourth of July weekend. Since service was closed that friday and they don't work on weekends we probably had the car for 5 business days or so to get it safety inspected and detailed. Im not trying to make excuses for sara or any other sales person here. I myself had cars that arrived on the 3rd of July and are just now delivering.

I was irritated, but having just picked up my car and spent 3 hours with Sara, all is forgiven. She did a great job in handing off the new car to me. I do wish Rasmussen had better capacity as far as detailing cars. I really did have good experience today. Sara did some nice touches which melted away all of the resentment I had for waiting. I would recommend her.

Rasmussen may not let you take your new car away as it rolls off the transport truck like some other dealerships, but their cars are prepped properly and they don't come with the headaches that develop from buyers in some other areas.

Buyers elsewhere have complained about cosmoline oozing out when it gets hot. Or they've found other details weren't taken care of before delivery.

I know when my car came up a year ago from Port Hueneme, the Wagoners trucks hit Fife before they delivered the cars from the same boat to Rasmussen. That's just the way it is.

If you can't wait a few more days for a quality car, look for an SUV or full-sized pickup from the other dealers. I've heard they're desperately looking to unload those models.

I have nothing but good things to say about the sales staff at Rasmussen. I purchased my car there almost a year ago. It was by far the most gratifying car buying experience I have had to date. I would gladly recommend them to anyone.

P.S. Jarid, why weren't you at the classic races last weekend
