R56 Need Photos: Chrome Line Interior vs. None
everything is plastic chrome today. even on the hi-end cars. Its lighter then metal so it does make sense. Still lasts a long time though.
i'm on the fence about the interior chrome. i didn't get it cause i thought it looked kinda gawdy. then saw it in some photos and really liked it. then realized it would look funny as it wouldnt' match the other silver plastic. it would be a situation where i'd want it all chrome or none at all. and lastly saw it on a car in the show room the other day at a service visit...very shiny..glad i don't have it(right now that's my opinion :-) haha)
take a look at my photo page down by my signature..... or click here http://web.me.com/djchapman and go to the MINI page
I'm for Chromeline
Strictly personal preference. See my GALLERY. Note that I went for a dark interior...anthracite headliner, no sunroof. To ME, the chromeline attracts eyes that otherwise would see grey plastic. I like it. I've had no issues with REFLECTION, and can't really see how it could be an issue in my car. Sure hasn't been in 11k of driving. Enlarge any of my gallery pics, and you'll see my comments and a list of what's on the car. I'd never seen the chromeline in person, and now that I've lived with it, I don't think the website can possibly reflect (no pun intended) the way it alters interior appearance. Again, the way you choose to color or accesorize your interior may change the appearance. I'm just not for gaudy multicolor schemes. And yeah, that 62 Cooper is long gone. But the Scorpion is still keeping the new Mini company.
Chrome line interior is the only option that came on my Pepper White that I didn't want.
Having had it for awhile, I now I LOVE it! Adds a touch of the classic, a touch of 'retro', a dash of upscale, without being a *bling*fest!
Breaks up the bland, boring same-ol same-ol, IMO.
Couldn't think of owning another MINI without it!

I wish I could turn all the interior chrome to the piano black that I have. right now the chrome condridicts the black I think im going to get it painted piano black to match at some point. I want to do the stearing wheel trim too but right now im not sure on how to get it off.
Got the chrome on mine after initially thinking it was something I wouldn't be interested in because IMHO, it really helps out the look of the interior vs. the matte plastic. I had never regretted it, no reflection issues at all.
After this loaner that the Mini dealership let me use for the weekend. I am really digging the nonchrome look. I think that if they offer black rings I will get those. If not the flat silver/grey will work too.
