Hey all,
I'm a newb to Minis and am planning on order a base cooper tommorrow. Any reason not to option the sports suspension if you are sticking with the 15 inch nonrunflat tires? I will also be getting the sports seats as I want the checkered cloth.

yes, your money is better spent on aftermarket components.

 

But is the sport suspension better than the standard setup if I am not going to buy aftermarket components?

 

I ordered the sport suspension with the 15s. I didn't like the harsh ride of the runflats, but I wanted a little better handling than the base. The sport suspension has 2mm thicker sway bars in front and in back. From what I have read, the best you can do aftermarket is 3mm thicker in back (or 1mm thicker than the sport suspesion) and there are no front aftermarket sway bars.

 

I don't think that the front bar is that necessary...

 

I'm not sure it makes that much difference, but I do like the way Tristan handles with the sport suspension (and 16" wheels).
