Yes the top is US spec, the bottom european spec. I have heard the US spec is like that because of the seat belt detection, but not sure if this is the reason. Would be nice to be able to get the Euro spec as I don't think it would show the sag like the US spec seat.

Top is US spec. At least based on what my Black LL looks like. My seats look amazing. Everyone loves them. But they are somewhat fragile. I get ripples in the butt area (see top picture, above) and there are dimples that don't go away after something pointy has poked it. The leather feels nice and supple but doesn't look taut in certain places. My car is only a couple months old, too. My VW's leather, however, looks taut and firm still after 5 years.

If you think the mini's bad, you should see a mustangs "leather". starts to crack after 30-40K miles here in AZ. I conditioned it once every two months, and my wife parked it in an underground garage everyday.

I hate when "american" anything is involved with european.

actually the pleats in the seats really help at keeping the material tighter looking then the basic pleather mini seats.
when mine wear, ill replace the material with real leather, and add pleats as well.
Ide love a light beighe or tan but I dont think it would look good with my exterior color combo. ill have to settle for a black, gry or gry, blu combo.
