Can you provide a citation? In Rob Golding's 2007 book "Mini 50 Years," there's no mention of any manufacturing plants outside England.

The only reference was to moving the Mini operation from Longbridge to Oxford following BMW's sale of Rover.

From Wikipedia:
This distinctive two-door car was designed for BMC by Sir Alec Issigonis.[6][7] It was manufactured at the Longbridge and Cowley plants in the United Kingdom, the Victoria Park / Zetland British Motor Corporation (Australia) factory in Sydney Australia, and later also in Spain (Authi), Belgium, Chile, Italy, Portugal, South Africa, Uruguay, Venezuela and Yugoslavia.
