road trip Cooper S Works MPG!!
Just got back from a 1400 mile road trip from the flat lands of N. Texas (Dallas) to the high mountains New Mexico. Drove on roads at 10,000 feet elevation & the turbo Mini ran like a dream. Combined actual MPG on the vacation a wopping 36.5! This includes charging up mountain passes, buzzing along at 90 MPH in the Apache ridge (7500 feet) and generally driving to have fun. The Mini S was simply a blast to drive & very comfy.
Kudos Mini: the best mountain car I have evey driven and thats a lot of them in 3 decades.
FYI coming home to Dallas we got 41mpg w/ 91 octane gas, granted we were going downhill from 6500 to 1000 feet in 400 miles.

I just returned from a 950 mile round trip to the Canadian Grand Prix. The air conditioning was on at all times, the speed was a minimum of 75 with a maximum of 95, two not small guys in the car (plus luggage) and my 2007 MSC returned 32 mpg.
