I'm debating on having the dealership install the alarm, maybe a spoiler, and front fog lights before I pick it up.....any ideas what the fog lights could run? spoiler? I'm guessing $450 for the alarm based on starryeyed and zonedguy's posts....

for the leather option I would go to the dealer and sit in all three and see what you decide. I really want to go with the lounge leather, but I dont think it will be in the cards for my budget on the car. If I could afford it in my budget it would be a great 1500 dollar option, but I would rather have dsc, lsd, xenons much more since they bring actual function rather than just my butt in a seat when the leatherette will do me just fine.

Also I would say go for the bluetooth/ipod you say you dont care about it, but once you use it there is no way you will go back. I have had bluetooh connections in my last two cars and couldnt imagine not having it. Also some phones will download your phone book in the car once hooked up which in my book I just cant pass up. Also there are those new cell phone laws coming into effect so you will need some form of hands free, so why not have all the convenience in your car allready.

Hello everybody! Thanks for all the help. I finally ordered today. MA says 4 to 5 weeks for delivery.

No bluetooth...I hate talking on the phone and rarely even use my cell at all so not an issue.
I-pod will be fine without integration and ditto with the alarm. My insurance offers no extra discount then the key gives...decided to spend the $ for lounge leather instead as it was way more comfortable then leatherette in my opinion.

Can't wait...will post pics when I get it!
My build is below:

Standard Mini
Mellow Yellow
Black Roof/Mirrors
White Turn Signals
Premium Package
Cold Weather Package
DSC
Automatic Trans.
Standard 15" rims/tires
Front and Rear Fog Lights
Xenon Headlights
Lounge Leather Carbon (rode in a friends and he had these, very comfortable)
Anthracite Headliner
Black Sport Stripes
Mud Flaps
Black Jack roof and side scuttles
license plate frame

Paying MSRP but got floor mats, black jack sun roof decal thrown in for free

MiniO, you didn't say where you live.
I'm in Texas and the leatherette is good so far this summer.

The IPod info above is perfect. If you'll ALLWAYS use it, then you may want to control it thru the steering wheel($500) option.

Alarm-your call. Are Minis being ripped off in your area?
You can always hit Radio Shack and buy a $5 blinking light.

It seems many of us believe VW is Latin for POS!

Hello DragonWagon..
I am in NJ. Hot in summer cold in winter. (although this past winter was very mild-global warming I guess)
Leatherette looked good but I just like the comfort(and look) of Lounge Leather a bit more. Expensive option but it is a car that I always wanted so decided to spring for the leather. Also with the Lounge Leather you get lumbar support and I have 2 herniated discs in my back so it was a good choice for me. The leatherette looks great though, I actually thought it was real leather until dealer told me otherwise.
I-pod I listen to quite a bit but I have 2 filled 40 GB and just let them random play. I hate cruise control and don't care about controling from steering wheel so I didn't go that route.
No a car theft problem where I live but my job is another story. Luckily though company is moving into a building with gated lot.
So Radio Shack has fake alarm?? That sounds like a good idea.
