That's NO pirate! This debonaire dude looks a lot like ZORRO (I believe the Guy Williams version). Now, ZORRO is a hero... a Robin Hood with dashing good looks and a personality to make any woman swoon! (Antonio Banderas.. ahhhhhh....)

Aye but the candlelight do darken a hue, makin a Chili Red appear Nightfire Red in colour when tis all along tis shadow at play. Yar.

Well x uh oh x it is for one day, at least officially. Perhaps we dumb questioners can come up with another theme?

 

Hm...well...This thread has a seriously re-occuring piratic theme, so diverting from it completely doesn't sound overly reasonable...

Let me cogitate on another dumb question to put forward...

 

I, too, have noticed the lack of due diligence by many thread posters. Seems to me there's a target rich environment for 'dumb questions' ... for instance,

• Why are CR or BRG owners content about their color choices in face of strong evidence that other choices would have been better?
• Why does the Clubman crowd seem to think their variant is superior?
• Why do the vee-formations of flying geese appear to be asymmetric?
• Why does pirate speak elicit a huge response, whereas the Grammar Police thread languishes in disuse?
• Why, in many organizations, does the equation [[ ranked position in the organization times IQ = constant ]] hold true?
• And so on ... and so on ...

 

You pose some very GOOD questions. Except for that first, of course...

"Brit" speak elicits the same kind of response as pirate speak...even with the same kinds of accents.

I haven't seen the OP for this thread around in a while, which is sad. He started some of the most epic fun I've ever had on NAM.
