I have the faintest recollection in my mind that when the BMW MINI was first announced there was a color called "Root Beer". Is this my imagination? Or did they eventually rename it "Velvet Red"?

Also, was there ever a color similar to Velvet Red that is non-metallic? I've seen a MINI around my neighborhood that looks about that shade but has never looked metallic to me (from a distance).

 

I loved Silk Green, Electric Blue, and Space Blue.

 

Given the racing heritage. Has to be Chili Red with a White roof.
