R56 R56 Model?
R56 Model?
Does anyone know of a source for a plastic R56 model? I prefer the white (requires painting) glue together type. I haven't put together a model car in about 45 years. I have no idea what's out there now. The models I used to assemble were Revell, AMT, etc. They were very detailed, took a lot of work but were fantastic when done properly. I expect, like so many other things these days, models now appeal to the quick gratification syndrome meaning they are "quick, easy, and crappy". I hope I'm wrong.
Here's one that I made a few years ago. It's made by Tamiya. A bit expensive at around $100, but you get what you pay for and this was definitely worth it. Here's a link to the car on Tamiya's website. Here are some photos of mine when I finished it. I was even considering custom making them to resemble people's real Mini's and sell it to them, but it's too hard to part with these models when they take so many hours to build.

Oops, didn't realize you wanted a model for the R56, my bad. But may I suggest building one of these classics to go along with your model R56.

I got an R50 model for Christmas so I don't know where it was purchased from. Its a Revell #07383 with white body parts, black under carriage parts, clear parts (windows), and a few silver parts (dash and wheels). I haven't started on it yet so I can't take a pic of it. Good luck finding one!

I'm an avid modeler and I'm pretty sure the R56 hasn't been tooled yet. Fujimi makes the R53 and R50 so if anybody is going to do it it will be them. Check out www.hlj.com for kits that are not available in the US.
