R56 M7 SRP or Cravenspeed STD?
M7 SRP or Cravenspeed STD?
This mushrooming issue concerns me and I am looking into preventative measures for my 08 MCS which is currently waiting for its ship to sail. Anyone familiar with the M7 SRP and or the Cravenspeed STD? They cost about the same and promise to protect the strut towers from deforming. Is one better than the other. Thanks!
I have the M7 SRP on my 07 MCS. Added them about two weeks ago with only 1000 miles on my MINI. They seem to work fine. A lot of people say that the 2nd Gen. are better but for $130 dollars I thought it would be money well spend just in case.
Seems unecessary to me.
I had my '05 R53 for about 42k miles, and hit many terrible potholes, and drove the crap out of it. My strut towers were always fine, no mushrooming. I hear the strut towers in the R56 are even better, so i don't think you need to worry.
But then again, if you want to spend the money, go for it!
Get the M7.

Hey NashvilleMiniStan, I am in Nashville too! My 08 MCS AB/AB will board the ship in the next day or so to make the trip across the pond. Did you put your M7's on yourself? Does Mini Nashville dealer offer the M7 SRP's, if so I am sure you pay a premium.
