Water Leak Inside

I just found today that a box of kleenex tissues I had behind my passenger seat on the floorboard was totally soaked. The little floor mat was soaked with the underside of it especially wet where the tissues were sitting.

We did have a couple rainy days last week and I'm definitely sure the windows were up all the way. I wouldn't think the water could have come in through the sunroof since the passenger seat sits so far back I don't see how any water could have dripped down directly onto the back seat floorboard.

This is the only carpet area that I can find wet.

I removed the rear floormat to let it dry out. Then I'm going to watch it the next time I take it through a car wash to see if anything is coming in. I've got a 1yr servicing coming up next month so I was going to bring this up to them but would like to know for sure where it's coming from.

Has anyone else ever seen this happen before?

Any ideas?

We had the same problem twice on my Wife's 07. I never found out the problem and I can not get it to reproduce. It just happened about two months apart but has been fine for about 3 months, even with alot of rain. Can't tell you how much it bothers me...

Here's another link to a different thread-same issue!

Thanks dogdal24 and lacning74. I left some posts on these other 2 threads to see if the original posters ever found anything else out themselves.

I appreciate the information.

If you have an early production R56, then most likely its coming in from the door seals... this is a known issue and there is a bulletin out on this problem.
Take it in and get them replaced.

Thanks, I'll be doing my 1 year maintenance next month so I will have them check this out also.

Also have them check the sunroof drains.
