when did you place your order? also do you have the name of the MA you worked with to place the order at MSRP?

anybody know if you can place the order w/o physically going to the dealership? i imagine i can just provide them my creditcard for the deposit.

edit: just got a call from Concord and was told their markup is $995 which is the lowest I’ve got so far. The person I spoke to told me they got 60 order allocations at the beginning of the week and is now down to 15! I guess that’s why every dealership decides they can charge markup. What crazy popularity!

In the end I ended up going to east bay mini b/c I'm too impatient for an order. Luckily they matched my quote from concord.
I was previously given a $995 over MSRP from another sales rep from Concord. When I re-read this post I saw the $500 off and got super excited. I immediately called but only to find that the $995 over MSRP IS the AAA price...but that it is still the lowest i see around here tho.

i got my car on the lot, picked up up on july 3rd..but i had signed the papers for it before (it was coming off a ship so i had to wait). anyways, jason mentioned that all the cars were going to be marked up as of july 1st. jason is awesome but that markup sucks! for the record, i paid MSRP and got free mats but i made it just in the nick of time!

Maximus96,
I met with Jesse at Eastbay last weekend and he agreed to sell a custom order 2009 MCS (to arrive late October) to me at MSRP, no mark up. Too bad they gave me a bad deal on my trade, otherwise I would order that day. I will have to sell it myself and hopefully still get the same deal. He seems super nice and easy to work with . Good Luck.

thanks, i left jesse a message, i will try him again later. typically when you put in an order, you just put down a deposit right? i imagine you don't finalize the trade-ins and financing until pickup. is that right? also i'm curious, how much is the deposit?

Deposit is $1000 at the time of order. I believe it's totally refundable. The trade in value is way under KBB, so it's a no go. That may change in a few days though.

Cheers.

success! I was able to convince Jessee at East Bay Mini to waive the $2000 markup. I forgot to ask before hanging up, do you guys know if East Bay charge any hidden fees?

thanks

I found East Bay to be quite fair, no hard sell, no hidden fees. I paid $1k deposit when I ordered and did the purchase paperwork when I picked up the MINI. They charged MSRP when I purchased the 03 MC and the 07 MCS. I don't know if they charge over MSRP now.

I just picked up my MCS from Mini of Concord (about 3 weeks ago).

I did pay a destination charge, it was for $600 and something (don't have the paperwork in front of me right now). Yet, that was the only charge. I felt that I got as good as a deal as I'd get from any other dealership at Mini of Concord. They threw in the floormats (common at most dealerships), have waived installation fees for several items I purchased (carbon fiber inlet scoop + dealer ipod adapter to name a few).

All in all, Mini of Concord was a great dealership to work w/. No presure into buying stuff I didn't need/want and I didn't pay above MSRP for anything.

I give Mini of Concord an A+ for their honesty and no-presure sales.

Concord now has a $995 markup which is the lowest of all the bay area dealers unless you can get one to waive it completely. the markup appears to be the norm for all the dealerships starting in July...

Good customer service at Concord, East Bay and Mountain View. I repeat stay away from SF Mini, worst experience ever and a bunch of crooks. They through all types of BS at me and tried to force me to use there own financing when I already have my own at a lower rate. I finally drove to Mountain View next day with no hassle and drove the car home same day.

East Bay Mini

I ordered today!

In and out in less than two hours, including test drive. However, I did spent A LOT of time researching through the NAM threads before today. My MA is Jesse Antonio, the same guy Dinlaka recommended. He was informative, honest, not pushy, someone I would totally recommend. And I got mine with no dealer markup.

Congrats, kewlby! I am super glad you got a good deal from JA@ East Bay. At this rate, JA and East Bay's sale number is going to go through the roof . In my opinion, they totally deserved it with their professionalism and attitude .

Credit to the forum members that ordered with East Bay and shared their opinions on here . It's priceless! (or should I say $2000 savings from mark-up )

I hope East Bay keep up the good work.

WOW, I must of just snuck in before that went into effect. My markup was $695. ...well I guess $300 savings isn't a huge deal when your paying $30k+ for a car!!
Still though,

You can browse their webpages on line at EastBaymini.com and Miniofconcord.com and check their new car inventory. I don't think they have many in stock now especially East Bay. I stopped by 2 weeks ago and they only have a few. Good Luck!

-I think your right. When I was in 3 weeks ago it looked like they had about 5 cars including the 2 or 3 that were test drive cars. The MA told me that they were having a difficult time keeping up w/ demand.
