Is there a trick to reading this dipstick. I have had two other people look at it and they can't tell where the oil level is either. Thanks

 

This was just posted the other day. (1) after cleaning and reinserting the stick, place it against a clean paper towel and see where the line of oil is.

(2) Better, after cleaning and reinserting the stick, pull it up to the point where the tip is just at the top of the tube. Keeping it vertical, look down the stick and you can clearly see the oil level on the rings.
