Nice!!!! I've coaxed 42.7mpg OBC out of my '07 manual Cooper but that's all city driving. Even w/o trying the OBC reads 41 mpg city. I'm a bit shocked myself at how well the Cooper does.

So BMW claims R56 MCS 0-60mph is 6.7 sec, in reality, it is 0-57mph in 6.7 sec? So the true 0-60mph is more like 7.1 sec? Certainly 6.7 sec looks better from a marketing persepective.

Where do you get that? Car and Driver did a test and did 0-60mph in like 6.1 seconds.

Yes. Anything over 40 mpg is great mileage for a gas car, in my opinion.

When you guys say you're getting 40+mpg city driving, do you mean speeds of 35mph or less and frequent stopping at traffic lights like every 1000 feet or so? To me that is city driving...quite a bit of stop and go either due to lights or traffic which results in frequent accelerations from stop.

Well, it is all a bit open to interpretation I suppose, but yes....39-40 mpg with lots of lights, 35 mph, and lots of fairly quick starts (due to prevailing traffic conditions). And this is on short trips...the engine hasn't reached optimum for half the drive. Now with more open road (45 mph) I can routinely get way over 41 mpg. If I really try...over 42 mpg, especially once the engine warms up. All this is OBC, btw, but it still an average based on an entire tank of gas.

Wow, I had a late '07 MC as a loaner back in January and it was like 10mpgs worse than what you're getting.

How do you check/change the language? I've looked through

and I don't see it in there. It's not something you have to have the dealership do, is it? I hope not...

no, you dont have to go to the dealership. You press menu on your HU then go to "Config" and it's in there.
