At this point you're just coming up with excuses man. If it comes down to paying for a new key out of pocket for $250 or selling your car and losing thousands, you'd rather sell the car on principal? That's immature, and silly.

If it takes you, let alone a reputable stereo shop more than 3-4 hours to pull out a stereo, you hacked your car to ****, and deserve the problems that you're having. In 18 hours I could rewire the whole car, swap out a clutch, and change the oil a few times with time to spare .

Buy a new key, and move on.

Yea you can do this all in a "xx" amount of time. That doesn't benefit the new situation. And no, I'm not shelling out the 250 for a key and having to wait 10 days.

MINI needs to order the key. It's their product.

And I'd rather sell the car, and lose millions if that was possible. .. because of the engine issues that I have. WHICH ARE, 100% unrelated to a key fob.

If I lived anywhere near you I would drop by and help you out, but I'm in the middle of the Pacific so... Good luck and I hope someday you too can enjoy your Mini like the majority of people do.

I appreciate the offer... What's your address? I'll freight the car over LOL J/K

I am waiting on some phone calls, from MINI corporate, and the higher end managers of Fields Autogroup, who manage Downtown mini in Orlando, to see what they can do.

Manguson-Moss Warranty Act, prevents them, from saying to take my stereo stuff out before they can trouble shoot, OR they need to prove in a court of law, that it's the stereo.

My attorney could handle that side of the case, and we'd win. I might be stuck with the same ole car, but at least I was right and it was a keyfob

It's also a matter of vengeance. I want that keyfob shipped to downtown mini and I want mr patel to be the FIRST person to use it on my car. So I can see the look on his face when it unlocks and locks the car just fine. And comfort access was restored. Just for being a smart ***

lol

If it was the key, the key would be under warranty. I'm not convinced it's the key since both of them act the same way. I'd be more inclined to think of the reciever in the MINI (which is in the mirror).

you cannot charge the comfort access key in the ignition like you can the regular key. The battery is replacable - not rechargable.

I'll also second that the stereo stuff CAN affect your MINI although I'm not saying that is what's happening. The wiring in a MINI is much more complex than you could even imagine.

Like I said, this is past looking for a solution. Now you're just trying to get even. If you want to go on a personal vendetta, enjoy, but don't expect all of us to get dragged into it. If you want to fix your car, replace the key, if you want to **** around and get "Vengence" keep playing games .

I don't have time for **** like this. My window motor burnt out, I went in, they wanted the car for a week, I drove off, went to another dealer, bought the motor, and installed it with a friend. $170 cost out of pocket, infinite headaches saved.

sucks, man. get rid of the car. seriously. sounds like trouble.
of course...if it was me...i would probably drive the car straight into your stupid dealership's showroom glass windows to teach em a lesson in how NOT to **** off your customers. thats effin ridiculous that you had to endure and pay so much money to play their game.

then again...i don't really recommend you doing that because it would be irrattional, people would get hurt, and you'd land in jail.

shouldn't this be in the 'stock issue/problem' sub-forum anyways?...
