I had to choose between British Racing Green and Lightning Blue as well. I was all sold on the BRG when one day I was playing with the configurator and LiB just seemed more like what I wanted. I have a coworker who has a BRG mini, so I was able to look at his, which confirmed that it wasn't quite what I wanted. It's a fantastic color, and very classy, but I wanted mine to look more sporty. It really depends what type of look you want. I am *very* happy with my choice. Absolutely no regrets.

Take another look at Pepper White, which goes nicely with Mini black trim and roof. PW is really just a reincarnation of OEW (Olde English White) which is a true classic british sports car color.

I too had many 2nd thoughts after I had ordered... then I got a chance to see the Lightning Blue, Laser Blue, and Oxygen Blue next to each other. I was happy again! I've now had it for 4 months and 10,000+ miles and still smile it every time I see it! Here's a sweet pic:

I vote for BRG. Ours is BRG with BRG top with Gravity Tuscan Leather. Very sweet looking. Oh yeah, English Walnut too. Pics in gallery.

Lightning Blue...

I faced the same choice your making just a little while back.
(First was sold on the Pepper white... but wanted a WHITE MINI...)

Then thought, BRG. I'd add white stripes and go with a theme look
to match my local universities school colors. Marshall U. Green/white.

Then I happened to see a couple year old BRG parked on a church lot.
Beings it was still winter, it hadn't been cleaned all that recently.
At first, even though it wasn't THAT dirty... I had trouble figuring out
what color it was at a distance. That changed my mind for me.

The Lightning Blue to me is somewhat an attention getting color. Not
quite a "Pick me officer" color like the reds and yellows, but still makes
for a good look.

If you keep the BRG clean all the time I think it looks great, depending
on the light. It's all a personal choice though.

(Oh, I also like the Pacific Blue interior option with the Lightning Blue
more than the "classic" interiors with the BRG... just my opinion of course.)

hmmm BRG and LB....two VERY good choices....yah know its hard to really determine, so....why not get both?

I bought a 2007 lightning Blue and picked it up Dec. 27, and after getting mine, my dad had to get one, so he got a 2008 BRG Works car.....cant go wrong either way!

since you are having a hard time between the two colours why not pick a different colour so you do not anger either the blue or green in you. try yellow or red.

It is very uncommon in the UK, I have yet to see an R56 in BRG on the road here after 1.5 years.

As for being "oh-so-British", the real BRG was not metallic

I like that color, but in all honesty it looks like the colors in that photo have been jacked with. Don't decide to get that color and then be disappointed because it doesn't look like the car in the photo...the car in the photo probably doesn't (really) look like the car in the photo.

I like my blue 2005 MINI, but for my next one I'm looking at a solid Chili Red. Or Mellow Yellow. Silver is too common (not only in MINIs, but in all car brands it seems), so it won't be one of those. MINIs are meant to be bright, IMO.

Yeah, it's tone mapped (aka HDR) to hell, at that point I'm not even sure whether it's laser or lightning blue. You can sort of make a timeline of his pics by how much tone mapping is done on the shots, seems to be doing more and more as time goes on. He'll get to plaid eventually.

I was deciding between laser and lightning and dark silver myself. For me laser wasn't deep enough, and lightning wasn't vibrant enough (although it was pretty close tone/hue wise), so I went with dark silver, which was my original choice to begin with.

...well actually I would've preferred an obnoxiously bright orange but they don't make that color.

I had originally planned to go more sporty and get DS/B, but then thought I'd go with the more traditional MINI colors, so I was thinking about getting LB/W, but they didn't have one on the lot and I just couldn't wait, so I got CR/W. They're all so awesome, it's so hard to decide! I sure do love my beautiful little car!
