How do I post a large picture in a thread?

I have tried and tried, and all I get are little tiny picture thumbnails.

How doe you all get the large ones on a post?

To expand on that: you need to have the image hosted elsewhere, such as imageshack or tinypic. Then you use the "insert image" function to include it in your post--not the "attach files" function! When you use the "insert image" function, you'll need the URL for the picture that you have uploaded to imageshack or tinypic. That's pretty much it.

Actually . . .

Even then, your photo can be resized.
(the reason being it can slow down how a page downloads)

As a courtesy, I try to not post pics larger than 800 pixels in width, even when hosted offsite. If I were to get away with anything twice the size of your wallpaper, then others might think it's a free-for-all. That'd ruin the experience of reading these forums.

Of course you can always host elsewhere and provide a link to the large file, should you wish to make it available for all to abscond with. Just make sure you warn everyone it's a bandwidth-hogger.

I'm spoiled by my 23" Cinema Display. But good points nonetheless.
