Front License Plate Screws

I know there have been long debates on no-holes verus holes - and I have decided to go with holes. I have the plastic bracket but it came with no screws (bought the car "used" with 1200 miles) I am assuming you use some stainless self tappingscrews to mount the plastic holder - but I can not find info on size - specifically length. Anyone know off the top of their head the approximate length? Thanks in advance

I just had mine off this last weekend and I think they were about 1", just a bit longer than the ones that hold the plate to the plastic mount.

# 10 X 3/4 or 1" sheet metal screw is good . make sure that you use a small pilot drill. A large fender washer will help to spread out the load.

What's in back of the plastic? Are you drilling into metal at that point?

Felt like just plastic to me - the screws worked fine and held the holder in place perfectly secure

There is a small reinforcment area behind the dimple to allow the screw to hold. You will not drill into the crashbar which is about 1" away.
