Around here $270 would nearly fit without folding the seats down.
My Mini doesn't go to stores. That's where shopping carts live!
That's why I park at the far end of the lot, which is closer to the top of the hill. No speeding carts will ding my Mini, and people are less likely to walk that far in the first place.
Did you make the bagger do that ridiculous paper/plastic shenanigan, or did you bag it yourself?
That's pretty impressive though. If you only fold down one seat, how do you keep from burying the kid under a falling mound of bags when you turn?
I always bag myself. I always bag faster than they do, and they can concentrate on scanning and passing me the items. It gets me out of their hair faster, and gets me the heck out of the grocery store. There's a ton of bags in there because I hate going to the grocery store and will only agree to do it once a week.
The plastic bags are for my lunches and small trash cans around the house, while the paper bags are used for various things like covering boxes that will be shipped, kids book covers, and filling the recycling bin. With just plastic, most of our stuff pokes through the bags and splits the bags, and paper always rips for us.
Actually, I rather like using my MINI for grocery shopping. There's just the 2 of us, and everything fits into the boot, without having to put the seat down. Better than sliding all over, as with the usual big-car trunk. And there's this curve...
Not an option here. A couple of stores tried it in Houston several years ago, but it just didn't work out. Too bad--my daughter liked it. Now she has to chuck her wheelchair in her car to shop.
I freaked out a bunch of Best Buy employees the other day. Bought a 40" Sony Bravia LCD TV. They said bring my vehicle up to the door to load it. They saw the MINI and started laughing, "No way it's gonna fit!"
I had the last laugh when it DID fit. Inside it's unopened box even!

I bring my own canvas bags and the store takes .05 off for each bag I use. I get more groceries in each bag and the stuff doesn't slide out of it in the back.
