R56 Dogs?
I am a bit confused about which option in the drop down menu when purchasing the mat for the back of my car on poochstyle. I am wanting the mat that levels out the back and covers the seats and back when both the seats are down. I just don't know which one that is.

Nah........you would be nuts though if you didn't have a dog!
See, it's not the hair I worry about - and I have mini schnauzers so I wouldn't have to worry anyway. It's what the claws can do to the leatherette, door panelling, dash, etc!
But they want to ride soooooooo badly....

I have a Jack Russell Terror and a Golden Retriever...and I swear the interior of the MINI is a hair magnet. I also got the poochstyle cover for the back of my car, but the flat mattress slips towards the boot and I end up with hair along the top of the back of the seat....so now I'm thinking I should get the boot liner extension. Does anyone know if they've made '07 extensions yet? All I've seen is the 02-06 style.
Thats what I was afraid of too! This new model that I ordered actually secures to the top back front seat under the headrest and forms a gutter between the boot floor and the back of of the front seats. the hair seems to find its way to that spot naturally but with the piping along the edge, it pretty much stayed there. I had taken the pooch to a groomer a couple of days before the trip (one i hadn't used before) and they did a lousy job, loosening more hair than they actually removed so there was LOTS of loose hair on the trip. That gutter is nice detail but kind of an after thought since I was most interested in protecting the back of the front seats -- my dogs are leaners and true to form, he parked directly behind and against the seat for almost the entire trip. remarkably, he also stayed out of the front passenger seat at stops!

1. Approx. 5' x 5' marine (rubber backed) carpet cut to cover the rear seat sidewalls and provide a barrier at the front seatbacks.
2. Approx. 6" thick block of foam to fill the boot area up to level with the folded rear seatbacks. I used 3 pieces of 2" foam board insulation cut to size and glued together into a single block.
3. A trip to the local auto upholstery shop to bind the edges of the carpet, attach nylon straps/quick connect clips for hanging the front off the headrest posts, and sew in velcro for fastening to the sidewalls and rear.
The project took only a couple of hours and came out pretty well, with a time and material cost of about $180. The finished piece can be installed or removed in a minute, which is good because it's much easier to pull it out and vacuum on a level floor than try to clean it in place. It contains all the dirt, water & hair, and doesn't move around at all with 8 scrabbling feet on it.
A couple of thumbnails are attached to get the idea, I don't seem to be able to upload full size photo's

I agree on the 'no-loose-dogs-in-the-car' rule. It's dangerous for the driver, even if you don't like your dog much! Check out C.A.R.E. I think it stands for champion auto restraint equipment. Also "The Roadie" is quite good. I don't like the dinky things they have at petco. There's a reason *our* seatbelts are not made with cheap plastic buckles. If you have a big dog, you need a big harness. The CARE ones are made from stock seatbelt material, and heavy duty D-rings that clip into a strap which attaches to your seatbelt mechanism or tie-down rings. I sure wouldn't want a 70 lb projectile coming at me if I should get into an accident. Also - you may want to disable your passenger side airbag or put your dog in the back. I'm going to check out those links with seat cover info though. Labs have an absurd amount of shedding.

My dog Crash loves to ride with me. He's only 6.5 lbs and he rides in my lap or in the backseat or in his carseat when I have it hooked up. He learned to ride in my lap when he was a baby (before the mini) b/c my old car had absolutely no backseat so he had to sit in my lap or in his car seat and he really hates his car seat. I'm not so worried about hair b/c he doesn't shed, but I get the wonderful Nose Smears on all my windows. Even my house's windows have nose smears I just noticed the other day. Made me laugh pretty hard when I did notice.
I did notice he likes the back even more if the seats are folded down, probably b/c it raises him up high enough to be able to see out the windows then.

They are brand new and not on the web site yet! Contact Juliana at PoochStyle directly by email at sales@poochstyle.com and tell her you saw Echo's mat.
Of course they are dog lovers as well so what could be better?

I have two....one of which is staring up at me as I type. As shed-free as you can get!
Now if I can find someone to create a sig of a black toy poodle in an Oxygen Blue /Black MINI!!!
I don't have any pictures, but I threw a cushion from a papazan chair in the back. It isn't a perfect fit, but it completely covers the rear area. It also provides a great cushion ride for my golden retriever. I also went down to the coast with my friend and her two dogs. A Yorkie-Poo and a Toy Poodle. The three dogs made nice in the back area along with luggage and food. Great trip!

definitely going to have to get a doggie seatbelt harness for Pretzels. she is good about sitting the the seat while riding, but will stand up on the door when i get out of it and i just cringe to think how my piano black will look 1x after that....

This may sounds weird but if the weather is not hot put a doggie jacket on Pretzels - the sweater type, it will "contain" most of the loose hair.
