R56 Service Bulletin for the Secret Compartment??
Wow, that kind of bites that your MA(s) didn't at least go over the car a bit since it's got a few quirks (the radio controls, the turn signal, etc). My MA was pretty sure I knew at least as much about the car as he did, but he still took the time to show me everything for about 45 minutes or so after the paperwork got all signed.
Seriously, there's a whole lot s/he should have shown you. All the way down to where to put your milk jugs when you go grocery shopping*.
Guess you'll have to triple read the book...
*in the side netting in the boot. He's right! That's the sort of thing the book doesn't show you.
My advisor was awesome, and showed me a lot of cool tricks like how to lower the volume of the gong. He didn't show me how to reprogram the trip computer display or where the hide a key spot is, though... I had to figure those out myself.

I've read the manual several times and can't find anything about it. Thanks!
My MA wasnt really able to show me much about my MINI either. I got the first '07 in the US and they were all pretty much in the dark. Ive had to figure a lot of things out on my own and reading the manual. I finally got around to having my secret compartment retro fitted in November and while I like the extra bit of space, I dont really appreciate yet another rattle
There are supposed to be some sort of tab cushions to fit on the door--ask about them.
Don't feel rained on about having no help. My SA told me/still tells me "you're the first person who has had this problem." I had one of the first in the U.S., too. She's still saying this half the time, and I hear from others that she says it to them...about the same problems.
Must be something they learn in MINI 101 school.

Deb I get the exact same thing. In fact, when I walk into the dealership, they recognize me and say "Youre the one that had your transmission replace huh?" Oh well, I guess it comes with the territory.
How did you find out you have the first one delivered? I remember someone getting theirs on 2/16, before intro date--was that you?
Quite a distinction. Can you imagine asking Chevy who has the first whatever?

Has anyone noticed a rubbing of the the small end (farthest to the left) against the air vent depending on where you push it in when closing it? I'm not sure if I had this before (or just didn't notice) but after I had it in the dealer to fix the dash rattle I have noticed this.
When I go to close it if I push more to the left side and toward the bottom this little piece farthest to the left will scrap against the air vent
