R56 how do you remove the hood scoop?

how do you remove the hood scoop?

i was wondering how do you remove the hood scoop "screen"? i would like to install the alta cai but my scoop is fully blocked. thanks

I'm assuming your talking about the R56. If you want to take it off for the ALTA. You could read the last steps in the ALTA Install PDF. :p

Pop hood and locate rubber cover hiding screw directly underneath the hood scoop. Remove the screw, and then close your hood and pull straight up on the scoop(it's held in by like 5 plastic tab things). Then just remove the few screws holding the black mesh to the actual scoop, and then put the scoop back on and reattach screw that was hidden by rubber piece....really simple....takes like 10min.

thanks for the info, i will go do it now. also do you think it would be better to leave it on for the winter for engine heating issues? thanks again for the help.
