Got in my MINI yesterday, and a bunch of icons flashed on the tach, and then it told me to set the clock, which had been 'unset' mysteriously. My first thought was my battery had gone bad. Then I noticed the odometer was at exactly 5000 miles. Why it did this I don't know.

Anybody else have this happen when they reached 5000 miles, or am I the only one with this bonus reminder?

 

That sounds kinda' strange. I passed the 5000 mark about a month ago with no bleeps or squirts or electronic fuzziness. I might call the dealer and ask Mr. Service Guy about the issue. I can't recall reading about it on NAM either.

Either your mini was linked to Publishers Clearing house telling you that you won 10 million dollars or there is something freaky going on. Mine passed 5K yesterday and I did not get the celebratory light flash. Time for a trip to the doctor!

 

I've passed 9K and haven't seen anything like that. Don't think it relates to your odometer. Hope it was a one time, flukey thing.

 

I'm past 10,000 miles now and didn't have that prob. when I hit 5,000 miles. I'd call up your service dept and see what's going on. It's probably a minor glitch
