Heated mirrors?

Does the 07 MCS with cold weather package have heated mirrors? I thought that it did but when I have a little condensation on the mirror sit doesn't go away for quite a while. I was hoping it would work like the back window? I've never had this feature before so I'm not sure what to expect. Maybe it just works on frost and ice? Does it turn itself on or is it on all the time?

If it is anything like the heated mirrors on the '02 - '06, and I can see no reason why they wouldn't be, they heat any time the ignition is on. Mine would clear the mirror within a few minutes on either the '02 or the '06.

But I could be wrong, and I sure I will be corrected if I am.

No heated mirrors in cold package

Curiously, the cold package dropped heated mirrors for 07. I think you need the power fold mirrors to get the heat. Makes no sense to me ...

I got the cold weather package on my 2007 MCS (built in August) and the mirrors definitely are heated. I haven't checked to see if they come on all the time, but they are on when I select the rear window defroster. We've had three ice storms here in the last few weeks and the ice has melted off the mirrors whenever the rear window defroster was selected.

Yeah, I think you need to turn on the rear window defrost - or maybe the front winshield defrost....there are like three defrost buttons on my AC control panel - its crazy!.....but one of them must turn 'em on!

From the owners manual

At outside temperatures below a certain limit, both exterior mirrors are automatically heated while the engine is running or the ignition switched on.

It's unfortunate if this means that you can not turn them on... I have had the condensation problem in the mornings and find it quite difficult to change lanes in the morning

I was really hoping for a switch as well since 90% of the time I don't have any frost issues but I have condensation quite often. I suppose I'll be able to tell if the mirrors defrost if I go north for xmas this year
