R56 ALTA UNICHIP
ALTA UNICHIP
I WOULD LIKE SOME INPUT REGARDING JCW TUNNING KIT OR THE ALTA UNICHIP, ALTA 3" R56 CATBACK EXHAUST, AND THE ALTA AIR INTAKE. MY MINI IS NEW AND IAM CONCERN WITH THE WARRANTY. THE PROBLEM I HAVE IS THAT THE UNICHIP IS NOT ON THE MARKET, THEY TOLD ME IT WILL BE OUT IN ANOTHER WEEK, I NEED SOME INPUT REGARDING MY PROBLEM DECIDING WITH WAY TO GO JCW OR ALTA.....
I decided to go the Alta route and never looked back....my car has truely come to life with intake, turbo back exhaust and intercooler...Unichip is next and should really complete the entire package....check out the drivetrain section for more info on all the Alta stuff.
Paco,
If you are looking for conservative upgrades that will not in any way affect your warranty, but cost more, then the only answer is what MINI and JCW offer.
The Alta products will indisputably produce more performance per dollar and tend to be more aggressive in behavior. How they will affect warranty is widely disputed but you can keep all of your OEM parts for a swap back should you develop a major problem and don't want to take any chances.
If you check out the 2nd Gen -> Modifications -> Drivetrain section you can find endless debate in quite a few threads on this subject
