Yeah, I like it better as a complete "HiFi Package." For the car I built, I'm really glad I jumped on the '07 instead of waiting. The auto-up window would be cool, but really not worth the extra money for all the other options I wanted.

I am kinda glad i've waited to order MCS cuz i will still be able to get the multi steering wheel with the Conve pkg and now i get the HIFI sound system too with only couple hundred more. However, if they fix the sports package issues.. then i don't get xenon lights :(

whew.. im glad i got an 07.... 1200 price increase although it would have been included to get bluetooth and the center armrest... i didnt want those but the way i ordered all of the features, it was the same price to just get the package as it was to get everything excluding the bluetooth/armrest.

i wonder if the auto up windows can be programmed.

I read somewhere that the late model 07 can be programmed for the auto up.

Mine configured as an 08 is $350 more, and I also got $500 off MSRP. So I am glad I am motoring now. And my MA didn't even require me to put down any deposit for the car. I highly recommend ASSAEL MINI, ask for Nick Armstrong, Great guy to buy from.

Really? How late? Mine was built 10/29. I wonder if this is true?

Some options up; some options down. My configuration as an '08 would be $100 cheaper. I think I've had $100 worth of fun in the past four months since delivery!

In the configurator, what is the difference between the alarm system in step 4 under instruments and the one in step 5 under audio & electric? I noticed this in the '07 configurator and thought it was a bug, but it's still in the '08 configurator. Is there a difference other than the $225 vs. $500 price tag?

All the Step 5 stuff is dealer-added; you'll still have to pay them to install it which would drive the price up a lot. Out the door would probably be more than $500...

You can order a lot of accessories at 20% from various dealers and if you're handy install the stuff yourself. I got a factory-painted Aero Kit for my '06 and put it on myself-for a big savings over what my local dealer wanted to paint and install it.

i would imagine so... i mean i highly doubt the switch is mechanically different. I will give it a month or so before i ask my dealer though.

My '07 $35,050 Mini would have been $35,550. I expected a bigger jump in price.

Add sirius

Add sirius to the factory car is $1000!!! Add it at the dealer its $599. Don't really think it would add up to $400 for the dealer to install. Some of the pricing is just weird!

I too noticed the sport package having xenons and the sport suspension. My question to the people that think this is in error: Had you seen any official MINI USA documentation on the new packages?
I read about the changes a month+ ago when the list was first posted on Motoring File but I didn't think that that was a cut and paste from official MINI documents.
I agree that it seems too good to be true.

Look on the complete features list...the sport package is only DSC, Sport Suspension, 17" crown and sport stripes.

i saved $650 ordering the '07, but feature for feature, the extra $650 would have given me folding mirrors on the '08. Overall i'm happy with getting an '07.

our build's up $250 since we put in the order for our '08 with the new pricing, the price drop on the xenon's canceled out the price increase on the metallic paint, everything else stayed the same except the sunroof up from $850 to $1000
(hopefully that means they spent $250 on new rattle free screens )

I think a lot has to do with the weakness of the Dollar and the strength of the Euro. The dollar is taking a beating and I'm pretty sure BMW took into account a justified reason to charge more based on their standard.

If I had ordered mine as a 08, it would be $200 more. Plus a slightly longer wait.

From $23,450 to $36,938 in just a few clicks...

Add the JCW Aero Kit and it would be complete.

The base MINI S on the U.S. site is $21850, the base on the German site is 21600 EURO or $31995. So even with the exchange rate the U.S. market is doing ok.

I was talking with a friend here in Germany about car prices and he was amazed at how cheap I got my car.

My build was $200 cheaper as a 2008.

Thats from an American perspective, not from a German or British perspective where BMW is based.
