I would have gone for 15" but I don't think the Dunlops come in that size.
The Dunlop Winter Sport M3's are wicked, wicked tires. I had them on my last car and just put a set of 16's on my MINI. Today was our first ice/snow storm and I couldn't tell it wasn't bare pavement. I'm going to love the MINI this winter!

Love the snow ... I'm in NW Connecticut pretty close to the state epicenter for snowfall. We run a '76 Triumph TR6 as our summer driver, and she goes into storage Nov - April. Maybe I am fooling myself but the intention was to get the MINI for a winter driver but not to run her in the snow and when the roads are really trashed.

The subject of running her up north for VT ski trips did come up today.... and now I am wondering if I should get snows and winter wheels.

Would this be your car Halifax? I took this at the Litchfield Hills run in October.

Great photos!

That's what I have on my Chiquita. We just had the first snow of the year (five inches) and she got around just fine. Although I won't try going places I went with the Blazer I was very pleased with her performance in the snow. I'm sure the DSC and LSD don't hurt any either.

The low tire pressure light came on because of the snow. The manual says that is a possibility. It stayed on even on dry pavement. I checked the tires but they were all at the correct pressure. I reset the system and it has not given me the warning since. The car was built in August 2007.

I switched my tires the night before the ice and snow came down.
Summer Tires + Ice and Snow = bad news
i completely burned up my stock continentals so had the tire guy order some Hankook Icebears to fit the stock Rocket 5 rims.
What a difference, i wish i had them last year, cuz now all i wont to do is go out and drive in the snow!

I agree. Buy the tires that you want to drive. Getting All Seasons when you want performance run flats, is like kissing your sister.

Blue Cooper, what size Hankooks did you get? I was recommended 205/50-16 by discounttiredirect.com for 16" wheels and I wanted to check if that made sense before I got them.

And how is the ride?

And how is the shipping cost for 4 tires? Seems like this is the way to go. Thanks!

Yes it is, brother! Thanks for the photo of the TR6. She just went into heated storage at my mechanic's tonight.

We rebuilt Luna from the frame up. She's a '75 with a '72 motor rebuilt to Triumph S2 racing specs. 175HP in that car is awesome. But the MINIs kick her butt in the corners. PSYCHED!

Stats and a few pics (there are a couple in my NAM gallery, too):

I had a great time driving with the 20+ MINIs on the Litchfield Hills run. I work across NW CT in the land trust world and we were driving on some of my favorite roads. Which MINI was yours? I took a zillion pics.

I can't wait until the MINI shows up... she's got a long wait at the VDC in NJ getting modded up so we're looking at mid-December. You've got a driving buddy if there is an opening
