And its owner makes it listen to Seal.

Sure looks like it. The foglights remind me of when we used to put our fingers in our mouthes and spread our cheeks in a nah-nah-nah-nah fashion.

It kind of reminds me of the face of Elmer Fudd when he's hunting "dwagon wabbits." A1, in deed. Certainly not the Bold and Spicy version.

And, of course the R56 looks bloated. They needed room for all the rattles.

What's with the Darth Vader looking grills that they're putting on european cars lately -- especially Audi?

I think to compete w/ MINI they needed to improve on the R50/53 functionality of the airplane/UFO-signalling bonnet-mounted headlights. In this case the grill folds up for outdoor barbeques. Nice!!

...being a big Audi fan still at heart, it has been very disappointing to see the concept ideas and some of the current designs...

Audi had a good run from the early 1990's- early 2000-2002. I'm glad I was a part of that wave, twice

I had a 2001 Audi TT. It had a unique and attractive design, but they've gone and screwed that up, too.

And when I got mine, it came with a spoiler that was added because the rear end apparently lifted at 140mph. I couldn't pay someone to remove it because of the safety regs, but it kind of spoiled (no pun intended) the lines of the car.

From a (subjective) design standpoint only.

On the performance & handling side of things the redesign of the TT tranformed the car from a Jetta with a nice body kit to a true sports car.

I was parked next to an R53 the other day, and my R56 didn't look nearly as bloated as it did next to the standard MC (R50?). So in reference to my first post....

Nevermind,

Yeah, from what I understand this can make you really grumpy...or so I have heard as it has never happened to me, of course.

Yeah, it does look like something out of that movie. Either that or the cover of the last Bon Jovi album, but without the smile.

This video explains the new MINI pretty well.

I own a R53, but I love the new R56. If anything (lord forbid) happened to my car, I'd hop into a new R56. Just wish it had the burble, chrono, and cool looking hid headlights still though.
