My insurance company recently called to tell me that California rejected the VIN they submitted as proof of insurance. Sure enough, the dealer transposed a letter in the VIN. You'd think this would be easy to fix, but it is not. This is going to cost me at least two trips to the DMV to straighten it out: first, a VIN verification check followed by an appointment with my VIN verification and my title. You have to have title to fix this.

So if you haven't picked up your MINI yet, add this to you dealer check list.
