Just received a survey note from MINI NA asking how my dealer did in servicing my COOPER S U. Hadn't heard My MCS referred to that way before. Would someone please tell me what the "U" stands for.

For what it's worth, when I bought my car, the price for cruise control with wood steering wheel was $550. The early R56 wood steering wheels did not do well in crash tests so my car came without the one I ordered. Also, the disc changer compartment was locked shut (doors for the early, not locked ones, released only in Europe, rattled). Last week my dealer received and installed the wood steering wheel / wood shift **** along with the the rattle-free changer compartment kit. The steering wheel is getting nice compliments but the feel of it takes a little getting used to, and that CD changer compartment is turning out to be an excellent place to keep my rather pricey Garmin GPS unit (you've got to know the 2007 MCS to be able to even know that that compartment is there, let alone where it's located - the proverbial secret compartment).

Anyhow, I'm very pleased. Definitely worth the 6 month wait.

Sure love this car. So far in nearly 9,000 miles it's been problem free and really fun to drive. And still, I've never owned a car that gets this many unsolicited compliments (and I've owned, including this one, 14 new cars with the majority from Sweden and Germany).

 

Is it an abreviated "Cooper S US" to indicate US model? Just missing the "S" maybe.
