What irks me the most? It's on a really slow boat. When it gets here, I will no longer be peeved.

Yeah I have but there's a lack of feedback in comparison to the R50 wiper stalk hence my "trouble". Like I said, it will come and I'll be fine.

I have zero irks. I am completely irk free. Zip, zilch, NADA!

I love this car more than I ever thought possible, and I can't imagine ever owning or enjoying driving anything but a MINI!!! The car does have it's quirks, but all cars do. You shouldn't let them irk you. These cars are WAY too much fun to let the quirks irk you!

No spare (and if I buy one to keep in the boot, well, there goes the boot...)

My irk? TOO MANY CHOICES! If I can't ever decide how to configure the bloody thing, then I'll never get to order it!

I wondered what all the fuss about the double pull to open the door was. My '97 BMW does this, so I must not have even noticed it during my test drive. My gf's never had a problem with this, but it did really mess with my grandpa when I was driving him around one day.

Geez, did you look this car over well before buying it? None of those things were changed on the car between the time you ordered it and the time it arrived.

The "double pull" on the interior door handle. Geez, that's not rocket science. BFD.

What IRKS me about the Mini S is all the other cars that are in my way when I'm driving. Just pull over and let me by!!

I liked the simplicity of my 62 Cooper. The new Mini, overall, is too complex for me. Too much electronics, too much stuff to go haywire down the road. But that's the way it is with any MODERN CAR. That's just a modern fact of life with cars. So I can't truly be IRKED about it. The old Mini... I didn't like driving more than a couple hours from home, tops, and NOT on the freeway. This one goes anywhere, and does it with reliability, terrific handling and speed.

BTW, I ordered this 07 MCS without driving one, without even looking at one. I'd only driven the old ones. And paid cash for it the day I picked it up and THEN test drove my new Mini all the way home! And I've been loving it ever since. How's that?

Sunroof won't stay closed. Wish it had latch mechanism like 04..
Trying to find dash rattle. Seatbelt setup much better in my 04 Cooper.

What does not IRK ME like my 04 Cooper--

I can discontinue seeing a ciropracter from the seats. My fillings no longer fall out after hitting a pothole AND I longer get trashed at stoplights by little old ladies pulling shooping carts.

I LOVE MY R56 MCS................................

I do agree with the remarks above about the door not staying open, also i have noticed when driving in the rain water blows on the corners of the front bumper and leaves a dirt stain.Q

I had the seatbelt issue, as well, but I found a plastic slider on the belt that can be used to push the seatbelt latch up the belt and hold it up at the top. That way it doesn't jam between the seat and door (if that is your problem). Also the latch doesn't tend to whack the door when you unlatch it.

I dislike the turn signal setup, too. Seems a complicated, silly redo of a simple design that has worked for decades.

My major irk was having to drive gingerly for the first 1200 miles!

Other than that, I'm quite pleased. It is everything I expected when I bought it, and more.

Obviously, some of us are so crazy about the MINI that we don't really care as long as the car drives. But there are others to whom MINI is just another car that we own. Which group do you belong to?

My seatbelt gets caught in between the door and the seat. It had a dent in the door when I picked it up. Its reall hard to remember to "put the seatbelt away" when I get out of the car.

And while not a fault of the car, the dealer experrince was poor overall. That could definately stand to be improved.

Dash could be easier to take apart!

You aren't supposed to be looking in the rear view mirror when you accelerate.

I haven't noticed much vibration during acceleration. You might want to have your dealer check it out.

The thing that annoys me the most is having a slow moving SUV in front of me in the left lane.

It's the SUV behind me that thinks he can intimidate me into a lane change that irks me the most. The great thing about owning an S now is that one downshift and application of the go fast pedal later and the SUV has a great view of my rapidly shrinking rear fogs.

My dad does this everytime he's in the car. Doesn't matter that he's ridden in it often. Doesn't matter if he rode in it earlier the same day. He pulles it like it's a ripcord and he's 1,000 from hitting the ground. I swear he's going to snap it off one day.

- somewhat BMW-iDrive envy with the sound/OBC controls.

But overall I've been having a gas, and staying out of the throttle has been difficult. I haven't had a speeding ticket in 15+ years, but with this...it's only a matter of time.
Have you used the plastic slider on the bottom of the belt to hold the belt clip up high?

Thanks, but it's not so much of the vibration of the mirror itself, rather, enough minute vibration to de-focus the mirror slightly, say between 2500-3000 rpm.

Sorry all, my list is pretty long. I know i am going to get flamed for this!

Seatbelt suck between door and seats.....dents the leather.
very annoying rattle somewhere in the boot.
no auto up windows.
no auto open/close roof.
when closing roof from tilt position, it often pops right back up.
window roll down when opening door has failed on me many times already.
shins burned on exhast.
wife moving the settings (not automatic)
hifi stereo not nearly hifi enough.
hatch is often not closed...must close it pretty hard.
wifes heel slips off drivers footpad causing her to "jerk" the brakes.

would i do it again? probably not, but i would have a similar length list with any other car i bought anyway. do i have fun screeching around the on/off ramps? HECK YES!

As you are coming to a stop, reach over and hit the unlock toggle switch.

No one-button close on the windows or sunroof. Minor, but I hate having to hold the toggles to close up everything before I get out of the car. Seems like an eternity waiting for them to close......

I wouldn't call them irks really, but more like 'things to get used to', quirky little buggers.

1. I did burn my leg on the exhaust once, now I have a nice little red crescent moon on the side of my leg, maybe I'll have it tattooed in permanently if it leaves a scar. BUT, I can guarantee that won't happen again, I learned my lesson.
2. The doors not staying open, cuz if there is a car next to me I can't always open it it all the way to keep it open. BUT, Idon't have bruised shins, I learned to hold it with my knee while I gather my things.
3. The blinker issue mentioned, I read somewhere how you can change the 3 blinks to 5, that makes it easier, but I do find myself turning on the right blinker while turning off the left blinker sometimes. I know it probably confuses people behind me, lol.
4. The seatbelt alert... now this one is an irk, i have a 'frequent passenger' who isn't in the habit of putting his belt on right away. I wonder if there is a way to delay the onset of the alert?

All in all I love it. People still ask me "are you still liking your car" WELL YEAH!!
